Siena Italian Studies (SIS): Summer Programs
Siena Italian Studies is a program based at the International Center for Intercultural Exchange in Siena, Italy. SIS’s programs are a ‘gentle full-immersion’ in Italian life for highly motivated beginners, intermediate and advanced Italian language studen.
Classes are taught using an instructional approach known as FICCS (Full-Immersion: Culture, Content, & Service). Using this approach, which combines guided and spontaneous learning acquisition, students are asked to employ new language skills both in the classroom and in service situations giving them a learning experience like no other. SIS now offers Intensive Italian Language and Culture Summer Programs of varying lengths. These include: four week, six week and eight week options, starting from mid-May and running through July. These programs not only allow students to study Italian language and culture in a more condensed period of time, they will also explore Tuscany during a remarkable time of year.
